Releasing 10
Not too long ago I finished releasing 10, the 6th release in the boys of Tommen book series by author Chloe Walsh. I absolutely have NO WORDS!
It was one of those books that made me an emotional wreck for weeks on end, but in an enlightening way. Forewarning, this book is not for the faint of heart and involves triggering topics that include sexual abuse, assault, and mental health disorders to name a few.
Lizzie Young
If you’ve ever read any of the other books in the Tommen series, you’ve probably come to realize that miss Lizzy Young is a spunky, feisty and devoted friend. I’ve always liked Lizzie and have always had a hunch that she had many layers beneath, as Shannon Lynch put it, “her rough edges”.
That is why I loved this book so much, because Lizzie is such a misunderstood character and having a small glimpse into Lizzie’s mind as well as getting to know her story goes far beyond whatever I would have envisioned.
This book was refreshing in the sense that it really pushed the boundaries of a traditional love story by including realistic and traumatic scenarios and experiences that do unfortunately occur in this world.
Hughie Biggs
I have to give Hughie Biggs so much credit as he played such an integral role in shaping Lizzie’s life. Hughie was such an understanding, loyal and emotionally mature young man.
He was and is way beyond his years and really helped offset some of the darkness in Lizzie’s world. He saw her as nothing but the light of his life.
I wish life were easy and tragedy never happened, but that is also what makes this story that much more gut-wrenching. Reality is that life can indeed be tragic and horrific things do happen to good innocent people.
Overall, I would give this read a 10/10. Thank you to Chloe Walsh for continuing to write these incredible and unforgettable books. I can’t wait to see what is next for Hughie and Lizzie.
